The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Kajola Police Station, Odigbo Local Government Area, CSP Nimrod Anaka.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ayanlade Olushola, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday that Anaka died on Tuesday after developing a sudden illness.

“I can confirm that the DPO has died, but only medical experts can determine the cause of death. His age and state of origin will be made public later,” Olushola stated.

Sources said the officer passed away while being rushed to a hospital for medical attention. His body has since been deposited at a mortuary.

The news of his death has thrown officers at Kajola Police Station into mourning.
