Tony Anenih’s Son Reportedly Resigns From PDP - The Alternative News

Ose Anenih, son of the late Chief Tony Anenih, a founding father of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has resigned from the party.

His resignation was contained in a letter dated August 18, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Arue Ward 3 in Uromi, Edo State.

“This decision was not made lightly,” he wrote, noting that he had remained with the PDP through its triumphs and challenges, inspired by the ideals that first drew him into its fold.

Anenih expressed gratitude for the friendships, experiences, and opportunities to serve that had shaped his political and personal journey. While stepping back from party politics, he pledged to continue contributing to Nigeria’s progress through civic and intellectual engagement.

“At this point in my life, my duty now lies first with my family and with other responsibilities that demand my full attention. However, my commitment to Nigeria’s progress remains unshaken,” he said.

He also thanked the PDP leadership and members for their support over the years and wished the party success in its future endeavours.

Anenih’s exit comes at a time when the PDP in Edo State is facing internal wrangling and electoral setbacks, including its recent defeat in a by-election.
