The Sisters of Jannah (SOJ), Abeokuta Zone, has implemented its annual Back-To-School Project in two public primary schools within the Abeokuta metropolis. The initiative, designed to ease the financial burden on parents and promote education, positively impacted hundreds of schoolchildren.
In total, 244 pupils received essential writing materials, while selected pupils in critical need were provided with school uniforms, lunch bags, water bottles, and food flasks. The distribution brought relief to many families and joy to the children as the new academic session commenced.
Speaking at the event, the Zone Coordinator, Sis. Sekinat Dada, explained that the intervention was aimed at supporting children from low-income backgrounds and ensuring they return to school fully equipped and motivated to learn. Excited pupils and appreciative teachers described the gesture as both timely and impactful.
The Zonal Manager, Sis. Nofisat Tejuosho, also reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to community service and women’s empowerment. She assured that SOJ would continue to invest in educational support and welfare programmes for vulnerable children.
According to her, the project is one of several social impact initiatives carried out annually by the organisation to uplift communities and promote access to quality basic education.
