The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has dismissed two civil servants for forgery in its ongoing efforts to sanitise the system and enforce discipline in the state civil service.

The affected officers are Yusuf Adamu Ningi, an Administrative Officer, and Suleiman Ahmed (Ahuta), a Principal Executive Officer I. They were found guilty of offences contrary to State Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii, and vi).

The officers, who were initially posted to Government House from the Office of the Head of Civil Service, had their dismissal considered and formalised during the Commission’s 35th plenary session held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. The decision took immediate effect.

In the same sitting, the Commission also approved the promotion of three substantive directors and endorsed the elevation of four deputy directors to directors. The new appointments cover key areas, including Administration and Human Resources, Audit, Planning, Research and Statistics, Civil Litigation, and Land and Valuation.

Additionally, eight Chief State Counsels and Chief Land Officers were promoted to Deputy Directors.

Addressing the meeting, Commission Chairman, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, urged civil servants to adhere strictly to the Public Service Rules, internal and external circulars, and other regulations guiding their conduct. He stressed that compliance would eliminate unlawful practices, enhance service delivery, and strengthen integrity within the system.

He also congratulated the newly promoted officers while reiterating the Commission’s zero tolerance for misconduct.

It will be recalled that on September 11, the Commission dismissed an Education Officer for gross misconduct related to sexual harassment.

The cases deliberated upon during the plenary were recommendations forwarded by the Office of the Head of Civil Service.
