Former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, has confirmed that he honoured an invitation by the Department of State Services (DSS) regarding the recent attack on his convoy in Kebbi State.
Malami, in a statement on Monday, disclosed that the DSS invitation followed a petition allegedly instigated by “opposition high-profile political elements in the state.”
He commended the secret service for the professional manner in which the interrogation was conducted.
> “I must commend the DSS for the professional and transparent manner in which they have conducted their inquiry. I was treated with dignity and respect, and I remain committed to cooperating fully with the department to ensure that their investigation is concluded successfully,” Malami wrote on Facebook.
The former chief law officer was attacked last week by suspected touts while on a visit to Kebbi.
Malami, who served as Nigeria’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice from 2015 to 2023, is rumoured to be nursing a governorship ambition ahead of the 2027 elections in the state.
