Immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed reports suggesting he plans to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Ganduje, who served as Kano State governor between 2015 and 2023 and became APC’s national chairman on August 3, 2023, described the reports as “fake news,” insisting that he remains a loyal member of the ruling party. He stepped down from the APC chairmanship on June 27, 2025, citing health challenges.

Speculation had recently surfaced that Ganduje and some of his supporters were preparing to dump the APC for the ADC.

However, Ganduje’s spokesman, Edwin Olofu, on Saturday assured that the former party chairman remains firmly committed to President Bola Tinubu and his administration.

 “Ganduje is a committed member of the APC who is not just a loyal party man but also loyal to the President and his Renewed Hope Agenda.

So, ignore those saying he is planning to leave the APC. It is just fake news,” Olofu said.
