Nollywood actress, Opeyemi Aiyeola, has clarified reports surrounding fellow actor Ibrahim Chatta’s recent bereavement.

Over the weekend, several media outlets reported that Chatta had lost his biological son, citing a post he shared on Instagram that read:

“Inna liLlahi wa inna ileyhi rajiun. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on dear son. Champ.”

However, in a post on her verified Instagram account on Sunday, Aiyeola explained that the late child was not Chatta’s biological son but his godson, who was also dear to him.

She wrote:“Ibrahim Chatta didn’t lose his biological son but a godson who is also like a son to him. May his pure soul continue to rest peacefully… It’s been an extremely emotional ride so far. God have mercy.”

The actress also prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family, urging the public to show compassion during this difficult time.

Meanwhile, Chatta himself is yet to provide further details about the loss.
