The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has said he would consider himself a fulfilled monarch if the long-sought creation of Ibadan State is actualised during his reign.
Ladoja made this known on Tuesday while receiving Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who paid him a courtesy visit at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.
The former Oyo State governor noted that, beyond his other life achievements, the actualisation of Ibadan State remained his greatest desire.
“Aside achieving other things in life, what is left for me is the actualisation of Ibadan State.
I want this to happen during my reign as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland,” he said.
The monarch-designate stressed that Ibadan, with its 11 local government areas, is large enough to merit state status, adding that agitation for its creation has been long overdue.
He further disclosed that relevant stakeholders and interest groups are already working towards making the demand a reality.
