IMPACTFUL GOVERNANCE IS OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLE -COMMISSIONER



Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, has affirmed that responsive and impactful governance is the cornerstone of the present administration.


Hamzat made this known during the official commissioning of grassroots projects in Abeokuta North Local Government Area, noting that residents in remote areas are equally entitled to the benefits of governance.


"The essence of governance is to promote the growth and development of the people, which is why we are unveiling these projects. This commissioning serves as a testament to the government's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all citizens, regardless of their location. This is a significant step taken by the government, I encourage you to continue to support our initiatives," he stated.


In his address, Chairman, Abeokuta-North Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, reiterated his mandate to address the needs of the grassroots, emphasizing that this commitment would not be compromised.


"Our goal is to extend development to remote areas, and we are steadfast in this mission. I urge you to take care of these facilities so that they can serve you for many years," he remarked.


Earlier, in his goodwill message, Elewo of Ilewo, Oba Clement Kolawole Omosowon, highlighted the Local Government's dedication to the well-being of grassroots communities, encouraging residents to renew their support for the government in order to realise greater benefits.


On behalf of the benefiting communities, a resident, Abdul Wahab Yusuf, expressed gratitude, assuring that the projects would be well-maintained for the benefit of the communities.


The commissioned projects were; renovated two blocks of classrooms at Saint Paul Primary School in Ilewo-Orile; a solarized borehole system in Oke Ago-Owu; a public toilet facility in Oke-Ido; Enterprise Development and Skill Acquisition Centre, as well as the renovated administrative block in the Local Government Secretariat at Akomoje.
