A branch of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) on Lagos Island has been gutted by fire, sending panic among staff and residents in the area.
Details of the incident remain sketchy, but a viral video on social media shows some bank staff attempting to jump from the storey building to escape the blaze. The workers were seen trying to exit through windows as thick smoke billowed from the building.
DAILY POST report that emergency responders were yet to issue an official statement on the cause of the fire or the extent of damage. However, efforts to contain the inferno were observed to be ongoing.
