The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, on Thursday night, paid a visit to the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, at his residence in Abuja.

Although details of their discussions were not disclosed, the meeting comes amid heightened political realignments and consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Pantami, who served under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has recently been at the center of political attention following his participation in several high-level meetings involving key political figures across party lines.

Last month, the former minister attended a gathering of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alongside prominent politicians, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Senate President David Mark, former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and former Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, a close ally of Bukola Saraki.

In recent weeks, Atiku Abubakar and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi have also separately visited Pantami at his Abuja residence, further fueling speculation about potential alliances and shifting political strategies ahead of 2027.
