Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 10 finalist, Precious Ashiogwu Dede, popularly known as Dede, has dismissed insinuations that regional bias cost her the grand prize at the show’s finale on Sunday, October 4, 2025.
Dede, who emerged as the first runner-up, said the winner, Imisioluwa Opeyemi Ayanwale (Imisi), clinched the title purely on merit and through genuine fan support.
Imisi was crowned the Season 10 champion, walking away with the ₦150 million grand prize.
Speaking with The Guardian during the prize presentation ceremony held at MultiChoice Nigeria’s headquarters in Ilupeju, Lagos, Dede insisted that voting patterns were driven by love from fans rather than regional sentiment.
“I don’t think it had anything to do with region. It’s about votes, she got the highest votes, and she won. So, she deserves it,” Dede said.
Her comment came in response to remarks by Ossai Ovie Success, media aide to the Delta State Governor, who alleged that regional politics played a role in Dede’s loss.
The Delta-born reality star expressed optimism about her post-show journey, revealing plans to explore opportunities in acting and other creative sectors.
“Everything amazing, everything we don’t know, everything we’ve never seen, that’s what I’m bringing,” she said with confidence.
When asked about reuniting with her family after the show, Dede smiled and replied, “Yeah, absolutely.”
