Lady Faints at Abuja Airport After Scuffle Over Missed Flight - The Alternative News

A dramatic scene unfolded at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, on Sunday when a lady reportedly fainted following a scuffle with her sister after they missed their flight.

The two sisters, both adults, were said to have booked tickets on a NG Eagle flight but arrived at the airport late and consequently missed their trip. The situation quickly escalated into a heated argument between them, leading to a physical altercation that drew the attention of other passengers and airport officials.

According to eyewitnesses, the sisters scattered their belongings in the departure area before security personnel intervened and escorted them to the airport interrogation office. However, the altercation reportedly continued there, during which one of the sisters collapsed and lost consciousness.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr. Michael Achinmugu, said in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle that airport officials called for an ambulance to convey the woman to the hospital.

He added that her sister declined the offer, claiming the issue was “more spiritual than medical.”

Achinmugu stated, “She is presently receiving attention at the FAAN clinic. Hopefully, she makes a recovery. This is not how things should be.”

Daily Trust reports that domestic air travellers are expected to arrive at the airport at least one hour before departure for pre-boarding procedures, while international passengers are required to check in at least two hours before take-off.
