The Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaja Aishat Olaniyonu, wife of former ThisDay Editor and former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Senate President, Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu.

Alhaja Aishat, aged 52, passed away two days ago and was buried yesterday in accordance with Islamic rites.

In a condolence message, the National President of MMPN, Alhaji AbdurRahman Balogun (ARAB), described her death as a painful and irreparable loss, not only to the Olaniyonu family but also to the media community and all who knew her for her humility, piety, and kindness.

Balogun said the deceased was a devoted Muslim, a supportive wife, and a mother whose life reflected compassion, modesty, and service to humanity. He noted that her quiet strength and steadfast support greatly contributed to her husband’s professional achievements and community service.

He urged Alhaji Olaniyonu to take solace in the fact that his late wife lived a fulfilled and impactful life, leaving behind enduring legacies of faith, good character, and family values.

MMPN prayed that Almighty Allah grants the deceased Al-Jannah Firdaus and comforts her husband, children, and all loved ones left behind. The association also prayed for strength and patience for the bereaved family to bear the loss, reminding them that every soul shall taste death and that true believers are rewarded for their endurance in times of trial.
