The town of Ilishan-Remo in Ogun State came alive with pomp and pageantry as dignitaries from across the country converged to celebrate the 48th Annual Isanbi Day alongside one of its illustrious daughters, Her Excellency Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, the First Lady of Ogun State.

Speaking at the Ilisan High School Grounds in Ikenne Local Government Area, Mrs. Abiodun expressed profound gratitude to dignitaries and guests for their generous donations toward community development projects. She described the celebration as a vibrant symbol of unity and peaceful coexistence, commending the Olofin of Ilisan-Remo, Oba Michael Olufemi Mojeed Sonuga, and the Ilisan Development Association (IDA) for their unwavering commitment to the town’s progress.

The First Lady also appreciated the First Lady of the Federation, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her continued encouragement and support, acknowledging the presence of First Ladies of the six South-Western states, as well as their counterpart from Imo State, alongside senators and other dignitaries. She described this year’s event as the most vibrant and well-attended since inception.

Highlighting the impact of her humanitarian initiative, the Ajose Foundation, Mrs. Abiodun noted its achievements in medical missions, health screenings, and women’s health advocacy, stressing the importance of communities contributing to their own welfare while complementing government efforts.

In his goodwill message, Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, emphasized the link between culture and development, noting that cultural preservation and tourism serve as vital tools for economic growth and shared prosperity.

He cited key infrastructural projects such as the reconstruction of the Ilishan–Ilara–Akaka–Ode Remo Road and the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport as deliberate initiatives aimed at enabling communities like Ilisan-Remo to flourish.

Also speaking, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, represented by Mrs. Temitope Adeola, wife of the senator representing Ogun West, lauded Mrs. Abiodun, Oba Sonuga, and the Ilisan community for channeling the celebration toward giving back to the people. She urged women to embrace the Renewed Hope Initiative in areas of agriculture, skills acquisition, and girl-child education.

The event was filled with songs of appreciation and joy as residents celebrated various interventions aimed at improving the quality of life within the community.
