Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were seen early on Saturday morning setting up election materials and preparing polling stations at Central School III, Awka South Local Government Area, ahead of the Anambra 2025 governorship election.
As of 8:00 a.m., electoral officers and security personnel were on ground to ensure a smooth commencement of the voting process.
According to PUNCH Online, the election, which is taking place today, features 16 candidates representing 16 political parties. The major contenders include the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
INEC has assured voters of a free, fair, and credible process as residents of Anambra head to the polls to decide the state’s next leader.
