Bandits have once again attacked a Kwara community, this time invading Isapa in Ekiti Local Government Area and abducting 11 residents, barely two weeks after the Eruku church incident.

The gunmen, numbering over 20, reportedly stormed the community on Monday while moving with a large herd of cattle. They fired gunshots indiscriminately, forcing residents to flee for safety. An elderly woman was struck by a stray bullet during the assault.

A community leader, who spoke anonymously, confirmed that 11 people were kidnapped, including seven members of the same family. The abductees include a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several young children.

Identities of the Victims: Talatu Kabiru, Female, 20; Magaji, Male, 6; Kande, Female, 5; Hadiza, Female, 10;
Mariam, Female, 6; Saima, Female, 5;
Habibat, Housewife; Fatima Yusufu, Pregnant woman; Sarah Sunday, Female, 22; Lami Fidelis, Female, 23, nursing mother; Haja Na Allah, Nursing mother.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the attackers moved through several parts of the community, leaving bullet holes in homes and shops. Dozens of expended AK-47 shells were recovered after the gunmen retreated.

As of the time of this report, police authorities have not released an official statement on the incident.

Monday’s attack comes barely two weeks after armed men raided the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, located within the same local government area. During that assault, 38 worshippers were abducted, although they were later released, with some casualties recorded.
