Willie Obiano, a former governor of Anambra State, has reportedly passed away.

 His death has not been officially confirmed. However, Sahara Reporters claims that Obiano died in a hospital in London.

DAILY POST reports that Obiano served as the governor of Anambra State from 2014 to 2022, succeeding Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Born on August 8, 1955, Obiano hailed from Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area.

Recall that he was under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged N4 billion fraud.
