Justice Eberechi Suzzette Wike, wife of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, says only a strong woman can manage her husband’s personality and public life.
She made the remark on the sidelines of a golf tournament held at the Nigeria Air Force Base, Goodluck Jonathan Golf Course in Abuja.
The event was organised by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, as part of activities marking the International Road Crash Victims Africa sports programme.
Justice Wike noted that although many Nigerians would be surprised to see her on a golf course, she has played the sport before.
She explained that she attended the event to support Dongban-Mensem, whose NGO promotes road safety advocacy following the death of her son in a road crash in 2011.
Speaking about her hobbies, Justice Wike said she relaxes by watching television, especially the news, to stay informed about national developments that could eventually shape matters in court.
She added that she also enjoys cooking, football, and swimming, recalling that she played football during her secondary school days.
When asked what it takes to manage her husband, she smiled and replied, “It takes a strong woman to do so. I don’t want to go further than this.”
