A traditional ruler, Oba Bayagan, has been abducted by terrorists in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, intensifying fears over the state’s worsening security situation.
The incident occurred on Saturday, though full details of the attack remain unclear according to SaharaReporters.
Residents described the assault as sudden and terrifying, leaving the community in panic.
Kwara State has faced a growing wave of violent attacks in recent months:
Two weeks ago, terrorists attacked a church in Eruku, Ekiti LGA, abducting worshippers before they were later rescued.
Days later, gunmen invaded Isapa community, also in the Ekiti axis, kidnapping at least 11 residents, including women and youths.
Earlier reports also confirmed that terrorists kidnapped two residents of Manba Village in Patigi LGA after storming the area at night through the Rogun axis.
The abduction of Oba Bayagan has increased tension across Ifelodun and nearby local government areas, as residents fear the rising boldness of armed groups operating in the region.
