President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Nigeria’s security agencies following the rescue of abducted Catholic school students in Niger State and worshippers in Kwara State.

In a statement released on Sunday, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting every citizen, emphasizing that safety remains a fundamental right.

“You will recall that I cancelled my trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to enable me to coordinate the security efforts at home,” he said.

Tinubu confirmed that all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued, while 51 students kidnapped from a Catholic school in Niger State have also regained their freedom.

“I am closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and receiving continuous updates from the frontline,” the President added.

Reiterating his determination to tackle insecurity, Tinubu assured Nigerians that his government would not relent.

“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety, and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” he declared.
