The immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Correspondents’ Chapel and Chairmanship hopeful of the Ogun State Council, Comrade Razaq Ayinla, has pledged to renew integrity and restore dignity to the Union if elected as Chairman.

Ayinla made this known in a statement, declaring his resolve to rebuild trust within the Union, the Government, and corporate institutions.

“I am offering myself, not for personal advancement or political gain, but to serve as a servant leader, one who listens, unites, and works tirelessly to defend and promote the welfare of all journalists in Ogun State,” he stated.

The BusinessDay News Editor and Agura Crown Prince from Agura Palace, Egbaland, highlighted some of his achievements as Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, including:

Institutional revival and capacity building, Resource recovery and asset management, Welfare advancement and negotiations, and Human capital support and networking.

Ayinla promised to Ensure that every decision and financial transaction within the Council is open, documented, and subject to members’ scrutiny; expand welfare packages, training opportunities, housing and healthcare access, and career mobility for journalists; and heal divisions within the Union, restore respect for due process, and promote collaboration between Chapels and the State Council.

 “With your support and God’s guidance, we will make the NUJ Ogun State Council a model of credible leadership and professional excellence,” he concluded.
