The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday expelled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; and the party’s former National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
The decision was announced during the party’s ongoing National Convention at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Olabode George, former National Vice Chairman (South) and one of the party’s most influential elder statesmen, moved the motion for their immediate expulsion. He argued that the PDP must “restore discipline and unity” within its ranks.
The motion was seconded by the Chairman of the PDP in Bauchi State, Hon. Samaila Buga, after which the convention overwhelmingly adopted it.
