President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries to fill existing vacancies in the Federal Civil Service.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, announced the appointments on Monday in Abuja through a statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Eno Olotu.
Those appointed are:Ibrahim Ozi (Federal Capital Territory), Ezemama Chidiebere (Imo State), Garba Usman (North Central), Mohammed Ishiyaku (North East) and Ukaire Chigbowu (South East).
According to Walson-Jack, the appointments followed a rigorous, merit-based selection process in line with President Tinubu’s commitment to promoting professionalism, transparency, and excellence in the Civil Service.
She urged the new Permanent Secretaries to demonstrate dedication, competence, and integrity in the discharge of their duties, noting that their roles are vital to effective governance and improved service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
“The new Permanent Secretaries are expected to apply their experience and expertise in advancing the government’s reform agenda and ensuring the highest standards of performance in the public sector,” she stated.
Walson-Jack commended President Tinubu for his continued support for meritocracy in public administration, describing the appointments as a reflection of his determination to build a results-driven and people-centred bureaucracy.
She reaffirmed the Federal Civil Service’s commitment to efficiency, accountability, and innovation in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
