President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Wednesday depart Abuja for a two-nation trip to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, for high-level international engagements.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the President will first attend the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit scheduled for November 22–23 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre. The meeting, hosted by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who currently chairs the G20, will gather leaders of the world’s largest economies, alongside representatives of the European Union, African Union, and global financial institutions.

This year’s summit is themed “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability.” Discussions will be held across three plenary sessions focusing on Inclusive and sustainable growth, Development financing and global debt challenges, Climate action and disaster risk reduction, Just energy transition, Global food systems, Critical minerals and Decent work and AI governance.

President Tinubu is also expected to hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines, aimed at advancing Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening cooperation on peace, security, and development.

Following the G20 engagements, Tinubu will proceed to Luanda, Angola, for the 7th AU-EU Summit, which runs from November 24 to 25, 2025. The summit will bring together African and European leaders, young innovators, and civil society groups to address shared challenges in climate change, inclusive development, digital transformation, infrastructure, agribusiness, manufacturing, and the creative economy.

The President will be accompanied by several senior officials, including:
