President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a meeting with former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa (rtd.), at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
According to The Punch, the retired defence chief arrived at the State House at about 7:03 p.m. on Monday, where he was escorted into the President’s office wing by a senior security official. The visit marks General Musa’s first official engagement with the Presidency since his retirement from military service on October 24, 2025.
Dressed in a dark-green traditional northern attire with elbow-length sleeves, the former military head proceeded directly into the closed-door session. The purpose of the meeting was still unknown as of press time.
The development comes amid rising security concerns in Northern Nigeria, including the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, the attack on worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State, and the kidnapping of Catholic schoolchildren in Minna.
In response to the surge in violence, security agencies across the North-West and North-Central regions have intensified operations, deploying additional troops, intelligence units, and rapid-response teams to hotspots.
