The Ogun State government through the Bureau of State Pensions, Office of Head of Service has organized a verification exercise and Pre- Retirement Sensitization Programme for Civil Servants who are retiring statutorily from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2026.
Permanent Secretary, of the Bureau, Mrs. Arinola Adetayo made this known at Obas' Complex, Oke - Mosan, Abeokuta venue of the exercise, said the exercise was important to sensitise the officers on the processes involved in accessing their retirement benefits after service.
Adetayo said the exercise was meant to ensure that the retiring officers submitted accurate data to so as to facilitate seamless remittance of their retirement benefits to the appropriate Retirement Savings Account ((RSA) before their final exit from the Civil Service.
She explained that all the required documents ought to have been submitted to the Bureau, at least three months before the retirement of the officers for proper documentation, checking of the records and to ensuring that funds reached their Retirement Savings Account ( RSA) , in order not to remit their benefits into wrong accounts.
"Those of you that were employed before the commencement of the scheme in 2008, Prince Dapo Abiodun has added returns on investments to the amount payable to you, which means that all the amount that was due to you will be added and send to your Retirement Savings Account ( RSA)" Adetayo said.
The representatives of the Pensions Fund Administrators, Mr Bukola Odunuga ( PAL Pensions), Mr Samuel Ayedoju and Mr Lateef Kabeer ( MIDWAY Pensions) said that the information given by the intending retirees should correspond with their NIN because, Contributory Pension Scheme was guided by law, therefore, they encouraged the retirees to submit accurate data so that their retirement benefits would be paid without any delay.
Some of the participants at the verification exercise, Mrs Abiola Akewugberu and Mr. Ibrahim Asamu , appreciated the State Government for the exercise, adding that it was stress free
