The Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has stated that the ongoing redistribution of teachers in secondary schools across the State is part of its statutory responsibilities to promote effective teaching and learning towards achieving the revitalization Agenda - ISEYA of the present administration.
This was contained in a release signed by the commission Chairman, Apostle 'Biodun Sanyaolu, indicating that the present redistribution process is not to create any inconvenience for teachers or their families but to address the lopsidedness which has become the order of the day when teachers' postings are carried out.
He said the decision is aimed at addressing the imbalance in teachers' deployment and ensuring that all schools have the required number of qualified teachers to provide quality education to students, explaining that the development would ensure that available subject teachers are placed in schools at the required ratio, thereby enhancing teaching and learning outcomes.
The TESCOM boss noted that the sad situation has given way to having public secondary schools where some have huge excesses of teaching staff while most others especially in semi-urban and rural public schools lack enough staffing, adding that it gives credence to the parlance that Ogun State lacks enough teachers, whereas, it is not the real position.
Apostle Sanyaolu said, '' the redistribution exercise is also aimed at promoting equity and fairness in teachers' deployment, particularly for teachers who have spent over 5-10 years in the same school.
'' The Commission believes that this move will promote professional growth and development among teachers, as well as improve the overall quality of education in Ogun State schools''.
The Chairman stated that the State Government is committed to providing quality education to its citizens, urging teachers to take the redistribution exercise in good faith and continue to dedicate themselves to their noble profession.
He enjoined all affected teachers to report to their duty posts with immediate effect for the best interest of the State.
