The Chairman of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, has said that the introduction of the Ogun Learning Enhancement and Academic Resource Network (OgunLEARN) Artificial Intelligence Platform will significantly improve teaching and learning across public schools in the State.
Ifede gave the assurance while delivering his speech at the formal launch of the platform at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, describing the initiative as a major milestone in the ongoing education sector reforms under the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
According to him, the deployment of an AI-powered learning platform reflected the Governor’s deliberate investment in the future of education and his strong belief in innovation as a catalyst for sustainable development, noting that education remained the most effective tool for personal growth and societal advancement, thus, making continuous investment in teaching and learning infrastructure imperative.
The SUBEB Chairman stated that OgunLEARN would not only enhance classroom delivery, but also make teaching more effective, productive and responsive to modern educational realities.
He added that the platform would complement recent policy decisions of the State government aimed at improving teachers’ motivation, career progression and professional fulfilment.
He cited the approval of career advancement for degree-holding primary school teachers to Grade Level 17, as well as the re-introduction of Headteacher-Generals, as clear evidences of holistic education reform agenda that prioritised human capacity development and institutional strengthening.
Evangelist Ifede therefore urged teachers and learners across the State to fully embrace the OgunLEARN platform, stressing that its overall impact would largely depend on consistent, disciplined and responsible usage.
