The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the official timetable for the 2026 Common-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for Private Candidates, First Series.
WAEC announced the development in a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday. The timetable provides details of subjects, examination dates, and time schedules to enable candidates prepare adequately for the examination.
The post read: “Here’s the timetable for the CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2026 – First Series: https://waecinternational.org/timetable/. We wish you success and a wonderful experience.”
The examination body urged private candidates to carefully study the timetable and ensure they are fully aware of their examination dates and specific requirements. Candidates were also advised to strictly adhere to all examination guidelines to avoid unnecessary infractions.
The release of the timetable marks a key stage in preparations for the 2026 examination, allowing candidates and other stakeholders to intensify final arrangements.
The CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates (First Series) is scheduled to commence on January 28, 2026, and will be conducted using a computer-based testing (CBT) format.
According to WAEC, the adoption of CBT is part of its ongoing efforts to modernise examination processes and enhance efficiency in test administration.
