The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the upload of results from the Federal Capital Territory Area Council chairmanship elections on its Result Viewing (IReV) portal.

The elections, held on Saturday, saw voters elect chairmen and councillors across the six Area Councils in the FCT. A total of 68 positions were contested, including six chairmanship seats and 62 councillorship positions.

Checks on the IReV portal at about 7:35 pm indicated that results were being uploaded progressively across the councils.

In the Abuja Municipal Area Council, 847 results had been uploaded from 1,401 polling units.

Kwali Area Council recorded 75 uploaded results out of 201 polling units, while Kuje Area Council had 115 results uploaded from 262 polling units.

Similarly, Gwagwalada Area Council had 204 results uploaded from 338 polling units, and Bwari Area Council recorded 255 uploads out of 485 polling units.

In Abaji Area Council, 42 results had been uploaded from 135 polling units as of the time of filing this report.

The commission is expected to continue uploading results as collation progresses.
