Tension flared at the National Assembly cplex in Abuja on Tuesday as former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was involved in a heated confrontation withice officers during the ongoing #OccupyNASS protest.

A video circulating on social media showed Amaechi engaged in a verbal exchange with security operatives at one of the entrances to the complex, attracting the attention of lawmakers, aides and passersby.

In the footage, Amaechi appeared visibly agitated as he gestured and raised his voice while police officers attempted to manage the situation.

POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that the altercation occurred near an access point to the National Assembly, although the exact cause of the disagreement could not be immediately confirmed.

The confrontation reportedly lasted several minutes before Amaechi moved away from the area. No arrests were made, and there were no reports of physical violence.

Police authorities were yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
