The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man, Gafaru Rasaki, for allegedly exhuming human remains from a cemetery in Sagamu and being found in possession of four human heads.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abeokuta, saying operatives of the Shakura Police Division arrested the suspect on January 21, 2026.

“On January 21, 2026, operatives of the Shakura Division arrested one Gafaru Rasaki in possession of four human heads,” Babaseyi said.

He explained that investigations revealed the suspect unlawfully exhumed the remains from a cemetery, describing the act as a serious violation of the law and a blatant disregard for corpses.

Babaseyi added that the exhibits had been secured and that the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The police spokesperson reaffirmed the command’s commitment to public safety and warned that anyone involved in the desecration of human remains would face the full weight of the law.
