PICTORIAL: SUBEB Honours Retired Board Secretary, Director for Contributions to Basic Education | The Alternative News

The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has honoured its retired Board Secretary, Mr. Olubori Akinleye and the Director of Education, Quality Assurance, Mrs. Christie Olusoga, for their immense contributions to the development of basic education in the State.


The retirement ceremony, which took place at the Board’s Secretariat Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, was attended by well-wishers as well as officials from the Ministry of Education and the State civil service.




Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Board, Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, said the contributions of the retirees to basic education in Ogun State could not be over-emphasised. He described them as hardworking and result-oriented officers who served with dedication, integrity and commitment.




Ifede urged serving officers to emulate the exemplary qualities of the retirees by contributing their quota to the continued growth and development of the education sector in the State.




Also speaking, State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Public Service Reform, Mr. Jola Oyeneye, described the public service as an institution filled with brilliant individuals who had contributed positively to its growth and development.





Onasanya commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his confidence in public servants and for empowering them to drive the State’s development agenda.



Lending his voice, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, praised the abilities and doggedness of the retired officers, urging serving officers to emulate their dedication and professionalism.


In their separate goodwill messages, Permanent Member I, Barr. Femi Odufowokan and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Mariam Oloko, congratulated the retirees for serving the government wholeheartedly and prayed for continued strength and good health in retirement.



Earlier, Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Femi Fatade, described the occasion as an opportunity to appreciate years of dedicated service, excellence, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of basic education in Ogun State.



Responding on behalf of the retirees, Mr. Akinleye Olubori and Mrs. Christie Olusoga, expressed gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the opportunity to serve meritoriously. They also appreciated the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu and members of the Board led by Evangelist Ifede for their support throughout their years in service.
