President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday received a high-level delegation from the World Bank at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The delegation was led by the World Bank’s Managing Director of Operations, Ms. Anna Bjerde.
Also present at the meeting were Vice President Kashim Shettima; the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun; alongside other senior government officials.
The meeting was confirmed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with Vice President Kashim Shettima, received a delegation from the World Bank led by the Managing Director of Operations, Anna Bjerde, at the State House, Abuja, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026,” Onanuga wrote.
However, details of the discussions were not disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
The engagement comes barely 48 hours after the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, hosted a World Bank delegation at the Lagos House, Marina, on Sunday.
That delegation was also led by Ms. Bjerde and included Mr. Ethiopia Tafara, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Regional Vice President for Africa.
