Governor Abiodun Installs New Alado of Ado, Advocates for a Peaceful Reign | The Alternative News

 




In a continued effort to promote grassroots development, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has officially installed Oba. Abayomi Olatunji, as the new Alado of Ado in Sagamu, succeeding the late Alado, Oba. Amisu Osokowu.

Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, Governor Abiodun urged the newly appointed monarch to harness the community's potential and engage stakeholders for a prosperous reign. He revealed that with the appointment and installation of Oba. Abayomi, he would be inducted into the membership of the Remo Traditional Council and a permanent seat on the Ogun State Council of Obas.

"I urge Oba. Abayomi, to focus on accelerating the socio-economic development of the Ado community. He should remain accessible, receptive and responsive," he stated.

Hon. Hamzat, also congratulated the Odufowomu/Oguntade ruling house on their successful emergence, noting that the installation process adhered to established laws and registered declarations within the State, encouraging the community to support the new king for the benefit of their growth and development.

In his address, Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Jubril Odulate, represented by his Vice, Hon. Isiaka Salami, expressed gratitude to the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo land, Oba. Babatunde Ajayi, for his pivotal role in the installation process, while he expressed confidence in the new Alado's ability to lead effectively.

Akarigbo, in his goodwill message, congratulated Ado community on the significant achievement and urged Oba. Abayomi to collaborate closely with other royal fathers and the government for continuous guidance.

In his acceptance speech, Oba. Abayomi, conveyed his gratitude to the State government, Akarigbo and the entire Ado community for their support, pledging to fulfill the responsibilities of his new mandate.

The event was also attended by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, Onirolu of Irolu, Oba. Ajibowu Adeyiga, chiefs and members of the Remo Traditional Council, clerics and the sons and daughters of the Ado community.
