Maintain Your Service To Humanity Ogun Deputy Governor Urge Education Officers | The Alternative News


Officers in Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology have been advised not to relent in their duties towards supporting the present administration in the State to continually achieve its aim of repositioning the lives of the younger generations in order to make them relevant for future expectations.


The Deputy Governor in the State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele who gave this charge during the 4th Ramadan Lecture, organised by the Muslim Community of the Education Ministry expressed satisfaction towards various Initiatives embarked upon by the Ministry to promote educational and ethical values among the children.

Engr. Salako-Oyedele was opmistic that the results of the investments and intervention of the government, conceptualised by the leadership of the ministry and implemented by various officers in their different departments are going to be apparent in the next few years through numerous impacts and achievements that would be recorded by the learners in their future endeavors.


"Education is one of the developmental pillars of our administration. And I want to appreciate the Commissioner, the Permanent Secretary and all the education officers for the Initiatives put in place to earn the State the pride of place when it comes to worthy standards of education", Salako-Oyedele said.

Speaking, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu encouraged the Muslim Faithfuls to use the content of the lecture to correct their mistakes and turn their lives around for better.


Prof. Arigbabu appreciated the Deputy Governor for being passionate towards the issues that promote sanity, not only among the learners, but in the lives of the citizens as a whole, applauding the speaker for dishing out such much needed spiritual diets at this time.


While welcoming the dignitaries to the occasion, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko charged the people to use the forum for remembrance of God, urging them to uphold the tenent of Islam in the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Speaking on the topic: "Ethical Leadership In The Digital Age: Embedding Taqwa In Technology, Governance and Public Life" the National Chief Imam, Albarka Islamic Society of Nigeria, Dr. Mutiu Agboke described Ethical Leadership as the practice of directing an organisation or team, using strong moral principles, such as integrity, honesty, fairness, and respect.


Dr. Agboke highlighted respect, accountability, service, honesty and justice as the basic principles of ethical leadership, noting that all leaders must be humane and do better in their dealings with their subordinates.


The Chief Imam said "Taqwa as moral compass is essential in governance and public life, adding that it is not just a personal spiritual quality but a framework for moral accountability and leadership as derived from the Quranic vision of God consciousness".


 He therefore enjoined people to love and fear God, be righteous, shun idle speeches, and engage in self evaluation for them to have acceptable Taqwa before God, warning public officers to desist from "wait-for-your-time" attitude.


In their goodwill messages, the Consultant to the Governor on Religious Matter, Sheik, Awwal Sugar, and Dr. Rabiu Kusimo said people portray themselves as worthy leaders and not to be bossy over their followers and they should as well spend their lives the way they wanted to appear before God.


In his appreciative notes, the Chairman of the Muslim Community, Mr. Akeem Bisiriyi, appreciated everyone present at the event, and wished them a successful Ramadan period.
