The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has killed scores of terrorists in a series of precision airstrikes conducted in the Jilli axis of Borno State.
The Nigerian Air Force disclosed this in a statement on Sunday by its spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, noting that the operation was part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the North East.
Ejodame said the strikes were executed on Saturday as a follow-up mop-up mission, targeting fleeing terrorists and regrouping cells after an earlier successful engagement that decimated insurgent positions in the area.
He explained that the operation was carried out in coordination with the Nigerian Army under a joint air–ground strategy aimed at tracking and neutralising remnants of terrorist groups responsible for recent attacks on security personnel.
According to him, the strikes were part of intensified efforts to restrict the movement of terrorists and prevent further attacks on both military formations and civilian communities.
He added that the success of the mission underscores the growing effectiveness of intelligence-driven joint operations in the theatre.
The Air Force reaffirmed its commitment to sustained surveillance, precision strikes, and rapid response actions, assuring Nigerians of the Armed Forces’ determination to restore lasting peace and security.
