Asiwaju Odumosu Foundation Empowers Over 450 Elderly Women with Food Items Cash Gifts in Ijebu Central

The Asiwaju Odumosu Foundation, based in Ijebu-Ode, has empowered over 450 elderly women with food items and cash gifts across Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu, and Ijebu North East Local Government Areas.

The initiative formed part of activities marking the founder’s birthday and his commitment to giving back to society.

Each beneficiary received food items including 5kg of rice, semovita, and groundnut oil, along with a cash gift of ₦25,000.

Speaking at the event, the founder of the foundation, Asiwaju Oladapo Odumosu, stated that the primary aim of the initiative is to serve humanity.

According to him, serving people is the best way to serve God, and the foundation remains committed to supporting vulnerable and less privileged members of society adding that while the government is making efforts, individuals with the capacity to help must complement those efforts by giving back.

He emphasized that the initiative is purely humanitarian and not politically motivated saying that many of the beneficiaries are not politicians but ordinary members of the community, and the outreach is part of the foundation’s ongoing philanthropic efforts.

Odumosu added that about 450 elderly women were expected to benefit from the exercise, with 150 beneficiaries drawn from each of the three local government areas that make up the Ijebu Central Federal Constituency.

Also speaking, the Coordinator General of the Foundation, Comrade Olukoya Olumide, noted that the initiative has been sustained for over a decade, focusing on alleviating poverty, particularly among vulnerable groups.

He added that the foundation also supports beneficiaries with accommodation and medical assistance when needed, while acknowledging that government efforts alone are not sufficient without support from individuals and organizations.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs. Shonibare Olasubomi and Comfort Odubanjo, expressed gratitude to the foundation, describing the support as timely and impactful.
