The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned former Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, over allegations of unlawfully accessing a telephone conversation involving the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

El-Rufai, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, is facing a five-count amended charge before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

At the commencement of proceedings on Thursday, the prosecution informed the court that the charges had been amended from three to five counts.

 

Presiding judge, Joyce Abdulmalik, subsequently struck out the earlier charges.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the amended charges.
