Easter: Emulate Christ, Lagos Council Chair Urges Christians | The Alternative News

The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government Council Area of Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaun, has called on Christians in the council area to live with the teachings, virtues and message of love by Jesus Christ, as the world celebrates Easter.

The Chairperson, in her Easter message, signed by herself, on Sunday, equally urged the Christians to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus as a sign of God’s love and gift to them, hence, they should continue to spread love and promote unity.

She noted that God manifested His power through the resurrection of Christ, which according to her, symbolises hope for good time to come after trials and tribulation.

Princess Animashaun said, though it was a time for the Christians to celebrate the rise of Jesus, the period should however be used to offer prayers to God for His mercy on the country in general, Lagos state, and Epe LGCA in particular.

While calling for sober reflection on the death of Jesus on Mount Calvary, his genuine love and intercession for mankind, the Chairperson said Easter should be made special by the followers of Christ, by showing love and compassion towards their neighbours, communities, council, state and country.

Princess Animashaun added that as Jesus conquered death and rose after three days in the tomb, God would help Nigeria to overcome his present challenges and quagmires.

She, however, reiterated her administration’s commitment to the delivery of good governance in terms of socio-economic, healthcare delivery and accessible, tourism and infrastructural development.

The Chairperson also said she would continue to discharge her duties with justice, equity and fairness as her guiding principles.

While congratulating the Christians for witnessing another Easter, Princess Animashaun urged them to celebrate with the less privileged by showing them love in a manner Jesus Christ exemplified.
