President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a meeting with state governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.

The meeting, originally scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Council Chamber, commenced at about 5:00 p.m. after it was moved to the Conference Room of the President’s Office.

Governors in attendance include Babagana Umara Zulum, Hope Uzodimma, Inuwa Yahaya, Hyacinth Alia, Biodun Oyebanji, Peter Mbah, and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, among others.

Some states are being represented by their deputy governors.

As of the time of filing this report, the agenda of the meeting has not been officially disclosed.

The development comes shortly after an emergency closed-door session between President Tinubu and the extended leadership of the Senate on Wednesday evening.

Speaking after the meeting, Senate Majority Leader Opeyemi Bamidele revealed that “far-reaching decisions were taken” on matters of urgent national importance, following a resolution adopted during a closed executive session earlier that day.
