Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured the Arewa Community in the State that his administration would support in providing capacity building facility to enable them become resourceful and be useful to the  society at large.

The Governor gave the assurance when he received the South West Arewa Community members  of the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda for Asiwaju 2027’, led by its Director General, Alhaji Shehu Usman, who paid him a courtesy call in his office at Oke-Mosan Abeokuta.

Abiodun who commended the community for peaceful co-existence with their host, said it was imperative to equip the people with the necessary skills so as not to be used as agents to distabilise the society.

"We will focus on how to ensure that we provide human capital development for our Arewa brothers so that they will not be used as tools for destruction. I can assure you that whatever I can do as the Governor to support this initiative, I will do.

"We must make people have a sense of belonging and engage them on what options are available for them,   what they can do with their lives because an idle hand is a playing ground for the devil. That is why many of our youths are tools in the hands of dubious people because they are idle.

"I will be happy to put a team together with you to develop programmes that will allow us to develop your people, ‘’the Governor said.

He appreciated the group for providing leadership for the Arewa people in the South West to make informed decisions, saying their efforts would help in addressing misinformation and wrong representation as lack of information could  cause misunderstanding.

While commending the group for standing by him since 2019, the State helmsman also lauded them for supporting President Bola Tinubu through massive mobilisation, saying their action underscored the believe they had on the capacity of the president to lead the country alright.

"I want to thank you for what you are doing for our political father, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I commend you because I know how dogged, determined, selfless and how consistent you have been. You are not a flash in the pan", he said.

Governor Abiodun noted the integration that had taken place between the Arewa and the people of the South West, saying it was a testament on how receptive the people were to each other that had no discrimination based on religion, tribe or ethnicity in the region.

Speaking earlier, the Director General, Alhaji Shehu Usman, commended the present administration’s style of governance, noting that it had driven significant infrastructural development across the State.

He pledged that the group would continue to promote peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic groups in the Southwest and work towards ensuring massive support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections
