As part of activities marking this year’s Career Day, pupils of Our Lord the Good Shepherd Nursery and Primary School, His Favour Nursery and primary and Hoddy Modern primary School all in Ogun East embarked on an educational excursion to Gateway International Airport, where they gained first-hand knowledge of the aviation industry.
The visit provided the pupils with a unique opportunity to explore airport operations, observe aircraft activities and interact with aviation professionals who shared valuable insights into their roles and responsibilities.
Speaking during the tour, Head of Wildlife and Environment, Mr. Tony Odufala, guided the pupils through key sections of the facility, explaining the functions of different departments, including Air traffic control, passenger services, security operations and aircraft maintenance. The pupils were also introduced to the importance of safety procedures and teamwork in ensuring smooth airport operations.
On her part, Proprietress of Good Sherperd Nursery and Primary School, Mrs. Nwodo Eucharia, described the visit as an enriching learning experience, designed to expose pupils to diverse career paths and broaden their understanding of the world of work beyond the classroom.
Responding, one of the pupils, Ayomide Solaja, expressed excitement as they watched aircraft take off and the technology behind air transportation.
