The Fellowship of Christian Workers of Nigeria (FCWN), Ogun State Chapter, has announced plans for the 13th Annual National Prayer for the Nation, a nationwide intercessory programme aimed at seeking divine intervention for Nigeria at a critical period in the nation's history.
The prayer gathering is scheduled to hold simultaneously across the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 with the theme: "Focus on National Security, Peaceful Elections, and Fulfilment of God's Purpose for Nigeria."
at 12:00 noon. In Ogun State, the programme will take place at the Arcade Ground, State Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
According to the organisers, the annual event will bring together Christian workers, government officials, church leaders, professionals, business people, and believers from various denominations to unite in prayer for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Nigeria.
The theme for this year's prayer programme is "Fulfilling the Prophecy", drawn from Jeremiah 1:12, emphasizing God's faithfulness in bringing His promises to fulfilment concerning Nigeria and her people.
Speaking ahead of the programme, the Ogun State Coordinator of the Fellowship of Christian Workers of Nigeria, Pastor Jola Oyeneye, mni, stated that the event is designed to mobilise believers to seek God's face concerning pressing national challenges and opportunities.
According to him, special prayer sessions will focus on the security situation across the country, national unity, economic recovery, effective governance, the well-being of citizens, and God's guidance over the nation's democratic processes, particularly as Nigeria prepares for future general elections.
Pastor Oyeneye noted that Nigerians have repeatedly witnessed the power of prayer in times of national uncertainty and expressed confidence that God remains committed to His purpose for the nation.
The Guest Preacher for the Ogun State programme is Pastor Olufisan Osiyale, a respected minister of the Gospel and Permanent Secretary in the Ogun State Public Service. He is expected to deliver the keynote exhortation and lead participants in prayers for national renewal, righteous leadership, and the fulfilment of God's purpose for Nigeria.
In addition to the state-level gathering at the Arcade Ground, similar prayer programmes will be held simultaneously at Local Government Secretariats across Ogun State, thereby enabling more Christian workers and residents to participate in the national prayer initiative.
The Fellowship of Christian Workers of Nigeria, a faith-based organisation committed to promoting godliness and Christian values in workplaces, has over the years mobilised believers across different sectors to contribute to national development through prayer, integrity, diligence, and exemplary service.
The organisers have extended invitations to government officials, public servants, political office holders, traditional rulers, Christian associations, corporate organisations, youth groups, and members of the public to participate in the programme.
They expressed optimism that united prayers offered across the nation on the same day would strengthen the country's march towards peace, stability, security, credible elections, and sustainable development.
For further enquiries, interested participants may contact the organisers through the telephone numbers provided on the event publicity materials.
