Gunmen have abducted a middle-aged woman and her twin children in the Elewura area of Challenge, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday while the victim was on her way to take her children to school.

 

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the assailants intercepted the woman at gunpoint, forcing her to abandon her Kia Sonata vehicle before whisking her and the children away in their own vehicle.

A witness disclosed that the attackers fired sporadic gunshots into the air to scare residents and passers-by, causing panic in the area. Residents were said to have fled for safety as the gunfire persisted.

The latest incident comes barely 20 days after the abduction of 47 students and teachers in Ahoro Esiele, located in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
