Make Yourself Relevant Through Continuous Learning - OGIRS boss - The Alternative News

 



Members of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) Abeokuta & District Society have been charged to remain relevant by constantly educating themselves in order to improve performance in the discharge of their duties. 

The charge was given by the Executive Chairman, Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS), Mr. Olugbenga Olaleye, during the presentation of an Award of Recognition for Outstanding Performance, earlier given to the District at the 28th Annual Tax Conference of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) in Abuja, subsequently presented to him by the Chairman of the CITN Abeokuta & District Society, Mr. Lawrence Adetona, at the OGIRS Conference Room, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

He urged members to reflect on their performance within the Agency and put in more effort towards improving revenue generation, noting that the year's revenue target was achievable through consistency and dedication.

Mr. Olaleye reiterated that management would continue to support every staff member in achieving set targets.

"The knowledge you acquire is what makes you stand out.You need to constantly educate yourself and be relevant always," he said.

In his remarks, Director of Tax Audit and Investigation, OGIRS, who also serves as the 10th Chairman of CITN, Abeokuta & District Society, Mr. Lawrence Adetona lauded the Executive Chairman for his support through the payment of members' subscriptions and sponsorship to the conference, among others.

He also commended the members for their remarkable performance at the programme and disclosed that the National Tax Awareness Day campaign would commence the following week with various activities aimed at enlightening and educating taxpayers.

In his vote of thanks, Director of Administration and Supplies, OGIRS, Mr. Olusegun Akinfaiye appreciated the OGIRS Boss for his commitment to the welfare and development of members of the Institute,  commending the members for their outstanding performance at the conference.
