Ogun HOS Condemns Spate of Attacks on Public Workers - The Alternative News

 


The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka has condemned the recent spate of attacks against public workers in their various establishments by patients or relatives, as it is wrong and unlawful to attack any public worker while carrying out his/her statutory duties irrespective of any occurrence at the duty posts.


The Head of Service made this known when he received the Management Team and heads of all health workers' associations of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu led by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Oluwabunmi Fatungase in his office.


The HoS appealed to the health workers across the State to be patient and be empathic to their clients and their relatives, bearing in mind that their actions at times are spontaneous reactions due to certain unfortunate circumstances that might have occurred.


He however assured them that the situation will soon be properly addressed as a bill to that effect has been proposed which would criminalize attacks on any worker in the State.


Dr. Fatungase had earlier felicitated the HoS on his appointment and tabled before him some of the challenges the facility is facing which included incessant attacks on the medical practitioners.


In the same vein, the Head of Service, received the Body of Permanent Secretaries led by its Chairman, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo, the management teams of the Ogun State Agency for Control of HIV/AIDS (OGSACA) led by the Executive Secretary, Dr. Kehinde Fatungase, the Bureau of Statistics, led by the Statistician-General, Mrs. Omolara Adebayo, the Bureau of Public Procurement led by the Director-General, Mrs. Feyisara Bolarinwa-Adebowale, the body of Heads of Local Government Administration (HOLGAs) led by its Chairman, Mrs. Taiwo Akintomide, the Ogun State Operations Coordinating Unit, led by its State Coordinator, Mrs. Ijeoma Adegbite, with a charge to them to continue to support the present Administration's ISEYA agenda.


He emphasized discipline, proper dressing and commitment to clean environment among other things as they go about discharging their statutory duties.


They all came to congratulate the Head of Service, gave insights into the operations of their agencies in order to look for possible ways of proferring solutions to their respective challenges.


The HoS" alma mata was not left behind as they came en-mass to celebrate and show solidarity to one of their own, as the Global Chairman of the Federal College of Education, alumni association, 89/92 set, Engr. Foluso Olanrewaju described Mr. Saka as a dependable ally who 

 has in so many ways made the alumni proud and promised unalloyed support in all his endeavours while occupying the seat of the Head of Service.


At the same time, the executive and members of Lisabi Grammar School Old Students Association led by the Chairman, Mr. Kayode Falola, appreciated God on behalf of the Head of Service and also promised to support him in any way possible.


The Vice Chancellor, Chrisland University, Prof. Oyedunni Arulogun, also led the Management Team to visit the Head of Service while the Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria, Abeokuta Branch, led by its Chairman, Alhaji Ambali Ishola also led Islamic clerics to the Office of the Head of Service to pray for his tenure to be peaceful and successful.
