Accounting Officers in the State Civil Service have been called upon to remain steadfast and give unwavering support to make the newly sworn-in Head of Service, Mr. Iskeel Saka to succeed in his new assignment.
This was the passionate plea of the Head of Service when he met with the Body of Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service, led by its Chairman, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo at the Conference Room of the HoS, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
According to him, for him to succeed as the 21st Ogun State Head of Service, all hands must be on deck to make the tall dream a reality, as no tree can make a forest.
He enjoined the Permanent Secretaries to sustain the leadership position that Ogun State Civil Service is known for in effective and efficient service delivery, excellent performance and integrity.
In a welcome address, the Chairman, Body of Permanent Secretaries, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo, laid credence to the Governor's submission at the swearing-in, that hard work and professionalism brought the new Head of Service to the exalted position and urged all the members of the Body to emulate such and give adequate support to Mr. Saka so that he can build well on the already laid foundation.
She added that the Body would work as a team to make him succeed as it is a collective project being built upon.
Earlier in a familiarisation meeting with the Bureau of Service Matters, Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Saka admonished the members of staff to contribute their quotas to the success of his office by remaining diligent and efficient in order for them to have a sense of belonging when the time of reckoning comes at the end of his tenure.
He urged them not to bring the office to disrepute in all they do, but, be good ambassadors of the Office both within and without the premises.
"Contribute your quota to my success so that you can be part of it when the time of reckoning comes. Represent the Office of the Head of Service as expected, don't bring shame to it. Make punctuality your watchword. Discharge your duties diligently and timely too. Be up and doing, be proactive and acquire more knowledge.
"Always stay positive both within and without, deploy strategies to your administrative roles more efficient, dress well, speak fluently and work with expected zeal to produce the desired results" the Head of Service said.
Highlight of the meetings was exclusive prayers offered for the new Head of Service by the Permanent Secretaries and the members of Staff of the Bureau.
