President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election.
Naija News reports that Tinubu commended the people of Ekiti State for their peaceful conduct and for reposing confidence in Oyebanji.
The President’s message was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Tinubu also praised security agencies for maintaining law and order during the poll.
He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) “to continue to invest in conducting peaceful, free, fair, and credible elections as we approach the Osun governorship election in August and the general elections next year.”
Tinubu noted that Oyebanji’s first term recorded significant strides in infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare and rural development under the BAO agenda.
He described the renewed mandate as a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability, and people-centred governance.
The President urged Oyebanji to be magnanimous in victory and carry all Ekiti people along.
He also called on other contestants to rally round the governor in the task of taking Ekiti State to the next level.
Tinubu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with the Ekiti State Government to deliver more dividends of democracy.
